Montgomerie Barnstable is finally free of his financial woes, looking forward to a sell-out performance and a rosy future for his baby – the Barchester Memorial Theatre. Moon-Ray, the international superstar is in for a one-night-only, sold out performance.

Moon-Ray was money in the bank all over the world, except for the night, five years ago, when she cancelled a show at the Barchester only 10 minutes before show time. Known for being mercurial and difficult to work with and for, she’s come back to atone for the problems she caused for Monty those five years ago – or has she? And why are her two back-up musicians, widely held to be the best rock keyboard player and the best rock drummer in the business, still with her? She treats them both badly, pays them less than they’re worth and generally makes life miserable for both of them.

Will this show go on? Will Monty’s theatre flourish? Will Monty’s wife, Charisse get the “break” she feels she so richly deserves? And why are Bones and Fingers still with her? Is something more sinister lurking in the evening ahead?
